In commemoration of the final day of the Street Fighter “The World of Guys Stronger Than Me” exhibition, there was an auction for the life-sized statues of Chun-Li and M. Bison. Both of them were on display at the various venues. Someone could also try to get the special visual panel that was specifically for the exhibition at the same auction. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Both are part of a silent auction that will be held from January 13-31, 2023. They will go to the highest bidder. For each statue, the starting bid is 200,000 JPY. That would be about $1541.10. Meanwhile, the panel starts at 100,000 JPY (which is around $770.55). Chun-Li stands at around 170 centimeters tall, while M. Bison is 182 centimeters. Despite that, Chun-Li is 10 kilograms heavier than him, at 70 kilograms.
According to the auction website, the organizers originally planned on scrapping the statues. This is because they are incredibly heavy and large, and they had no place to store it. However, because they saw so many fans in the various exhibition sites happily taking pictures with them, they discussed it with Capcom. Their solution is the silent auction. It will donate a portion of the funds from the auction to charity. However, it did not state which charity the money will go to.
You can try to enter the auction for the Street Fighter life-sized Chun-Li and M. Bison statues. However, it will only deliver within Japan. Street Fighter 6 is in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC, and it will come out on June 2, 2023.
